AI Email Reply: privacy

In short. The extension reads an email only when you click its icon, press Alt+R or choose "Draft a reply to this". Nothing leaves your computer until you click Draft reply or Regenerate. The email text then goes to our server, which passes it to DeepSeek, an AI provider based in China, and returns the draft. DeepSeek may use what it receives to improve its models. We do not store or log the email or the draft.
What the extension reads, and when
- When you click the toolbar icon, press Alt+R or use the right-click menu, the extension reads the tab you are on once, using Chrome's
activeTabpermission. In Gmail and Outlook on the web, it reads the open email and its thread, newest message first. On other sites it reads only the text you selected. - It has no standing access to any mail site and cannot read your mail in the background.
- What it reads is held in Chrome's in-memory session storage so the side panel can show it to you. Chrome clears it when you close the browser. You can see and edit the exact text under "Show the email text that will be sent".
What is sent to our server, and when
The first time you click Draft reply, the side panel explains what will be sent and to whom, and asks you to agree. If you click Cancel, nothing is sent. After you agree, data is sent only when you click Draft reply or Regenerate:

To check your free trial, show the Unlimited plans and whether Unlimited is on, the panel and the plans page also ask the server for your trial and payment status. Those requests carry the install ID only, never email text. Like any website, our server sees your IP address. It keeps only salted one-way hashes of it: one that changes every day, for rate limits, and a stable one for your network, so the free trial cannot be restarted by reinstalling (people who share a network share one trial).
What the server keeps
- Email text and drafts: not stored and not logged. They exist only in memory while your request is being processed.
- Free trial usage: the AI cost of your drafts, keyed by the hashed install ID and the stable network hash. It is kept so the trial does not restart, and contains no content.
- Daily use counters for fair use, keyed by the hashed install ID and the daily network hash. They are deleted automatically after 3 days.
- Monthly totals of tokens and cost per AI model. These contain no content and no identifiers.
- If you buy Unlimited: a purchase record with the plan, its status and end date, the Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the hashed install IDs of the browsers where Unlimited is on (at most 5), a salted one-way hash of the email address you paid with, and a masked form of it (such as
b***@example.com) so the panel can show which address paid. We do not keep your full email address, and we never see your card details.
AI provider (processor)
Our server sends the text from the table above, and nothing that identifies you, to one provider:
- DeepSeek (
deepseek-chat) writes every draft. DeepSeek is based in China, and your text is processed and stored on its servers there under its open platform terms and privacy policy. DeepSeek's privacy policy says it may use the input it receives to train and improve its models. We cannot switch that off for you.
This extension sends no images, so no image-reading service is involved.
Please do not use the extension on emails you are not allowed to share with a third-party service. Where you can, select only the part of the email you need.
Stored in your browser
- Your last tone and language, whether you agreed to the notice above, the install ID, how many drafts you have inserted (used once to ask whether you would like to rate the extension), and whether the plans page was already opened for you when the trial ended. These are kept in
chrome.storage.localand removed when you uninstall.
Free trial and payments (Unlimited)
- There is no free tier. The extension starts with a free trial; after it, drafting needs an Unlimited plan (Unlimited Monthly, Unlimited Yearly or Unlimited Lifetime, a one-time purchase), subject to fair use. Plans and prices are shown in the extension, from our server.
- Unlimited is paid through Stripe. When you click a plan's button, our server asks Stripe for a payment page and the extension opens it in a new tab. You enter your card and email address on Stripe's page, never in the extension. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Stripe tells our server when a payment succeeds, renews, fails or is cancelled. Our server links the purchase to the hashed install ID of the browser that paid. Stripe receives that hash, never the install ID itself.
- Already paid? Restore: if you type the email address you paid with, the extension sends it to our server. If that address paid, our email provider Resend sends it a one-time link, valid for 1 hour, that turns Unlimited on in this browser. Otherwise nothing is sent. We keep only the salted hash of the address.
- Manage subscription opens Stripe's billing page, where you can change your card or cancel.
Limited Use
AI Email Reply's use of information it receives complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:
- Email content is used only to draft the reply you asked for.
- It is not sold. We do not use it for advertising, profiling or creditworthiness, and we do not use it to train AI models. (DeepSeek, which writes the draft, may use it to improve its models, as described above.)
- It is not transferred to anyone except the AI provider that writes the draft, as listed above, or where the law requires it.
- No person at Viralinc reads it.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13.

Questions or deletion requests: ope@trysixth.com. We hold no email content to delete. For an Unlimited purchase, write from the address you paid with and we will delete the purchase record once it has ended (Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires). The daily fair-use counters are deleted within 3 days. Free trial usage holds no content; write to us if you want it deleted (the free trial does not restart).
