Privacy Policy: Translate Image (Chrome extension)

Summary
Translate Image reads and translates the text in a picture you choose. Nothing is sent until you click. When you do, only that picture (or the area you drew a box around) is sent as one image to Viralinc’s translation service, which passes it to our AI provider, DeepSeek. DeepSeek reads the text in the image and writes the translation. DeepSeek’s servers are in China, and DeepSeek may use the image and its text to improve its models. Viralinc does not store the image or the text. Before the first image is ever sent, the extension explains this and asks you to agree. We collect no browsing history and no page text. After a free trial, Translate Image Unlimited is paid with Stripe.
What is sent to our server, and when

Our own server log records only technical facts per request: which app, which AI model, the number of tokens and the cost. It never records images, text or install IDs. Our host, Netlify, keeps standard request logs (which include IP addresses) for a short period under its own policy.
AI provider
DeepSeek (reads the image and writes the translation). The image you chose, and the language you picked, are sent to DeepSeek through its API. DeepSeek reads the text in the image and translates it. DeepSeek is based in China and processes and stores data on servers in China, and it may use the content (the image and its text) to improve its models, as described in DeepSeek’s Open Platform terms and privacy policy (linked from deepseek.com). Do not translate images that contain text or details you would not want to share this way. The extension itself never names the provider; this policy does. If DeepSeek is unavailable, you see a “busy, try again” message; no other AI provider is used. If this ever changes, this policy will be updated first.

When Chrome’s built-in on-device translator is ready on your computer, switching language is done locally by Chrome and nothing is sent.
Payments
Translate Image Unlimited (Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime) is paid on Stripe’s secure checkout page, which opens in a new tab. Your card details go to Stripe, never to the extension or to Viralinc. Stripe tells our server when a payment succeeds, is cancelled or fails, together with the email you paid with; we keep only the masked form and a salted hash of that email, the Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the plan and the end date, linked to the hashed install ID. The extension asks our server (never Stripe directly) whether Unlimited is on. “Manage subscription” opens Stripe’s billing page, where you can cancel or change your card.
Permissions
- activeTab: temporary access to the tab you act on, only after you click the menu item, press the shortcut or use the popup button, to capture the visible area and crop it to your picture.
- scripting: shows the result panel and the drag-a-box selector in that tab.
- contextMenus: adds “Translate image” to the right-click menu.
- storage: the settings and counters listed above.
- api-ext.viralinc.live: our translation and payment service (hosted on Netlify). No other website access.
Limited Use
The use of information received from Chrome and your browser adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use the image only to provide the translation you asked for. We do not sell data, transfer it to third parties except the AI provider (DeepSeek), payment processor (Stripe) and email provider (Resend) named above for the purposes described, use it for advertising, use it for purposes unrelated to translating the image, or use it to determine creditworthiness. No human at Viralinc reads your images.
What we do not do
- No reading of pages in the background. The extension only touches a tab when you ask it to.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking. No account.
- No selling or sharing of data.
Children
The extension is not directed at children or anyone under 18 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices and contact
You can remove the extension at any time from chrome://extensions; this deletes everything it stored in your browser. Server-side counters expire after 2 days. To delete your Unlimited purchase record, write to us. Questions or requests: ope@trysixth.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Changes that affect what is sent to the server will be made before the extension behaves differently.
